YMCA Body Fat Formula

An older, simpler alternative developed by the YMCA uses only weight and waist circumference. It’s less precise than the Navy method particularly for anyone outside an average frame size but it’s worth knowing about since some fitness assessments still reference it.

BMI-Based Estimate

For a quick comparison point, this calculator also applies the Deurenberg formula, which estimates body fat from BMI, age, and sex:
